The golf tournament for Maxime-Letendre Foundation:

an absolute success!

Drummondville, September 13, 2012 – Last Monday was held the Pascal Ialenti Golf Tournament for Maxime Letendre Foundation, at Le Blainvillier Golf Club.

Having a first target of $75,000, it is more than $137,500 that has been gathered and given to the organization.

This foundation is born following Maxime’s fight against this devastating disease that is cancer and the will of his next of kins to overcome the fate and to heal pain and sadness. It is also coming from awareness of multiple needs of people suffering from cancer and their consequences. It is certainly mandatory to treat the body, but in order to optimize all chances for recovery, it is also essential to take care of heart and soul.

Under the honorary presidency of Mr. Pascal Ialenti, President of Venmar Ventilation Inc., (suffering himself from cancer and actually being affected by chemotherapy treatments), 144 players took part to this tournament. During this beautiful day, filled with nice surprises, such as a silent auction sale, we were granted by the presence of Mr. Georges Brossard, entomologist and promotor of the Montreal Insectarium. Mr. Brossard related the true story about The Blue Butterfly film; where a boy recovers from cancer after an entomologist realized his dream by helping him catch a blue butterfly. The blue butterfly is the emblem of Maxime-Letendre foundation.

We would like to mention the presence of Dr. Manon Boursier, hemato-oncologist from La Cité de la Santé and executive committee member of Maxime-Letendre foundation.

The organizing committee members Pascal Marois, Claude Landry and Pascale Bélanger are joining the foundation team to warmly thank all participants and sponsors, who, with their presence and collaboration, contributed to its success!

About the Foundation

The Maxime-Letendre Foundation, having its head office located in Laval, has for primary mission to gather funds to support the regional program of hemato-oncology of the Laval Centre de santé et des services sociaux.

This foundation wants to provide an oasis to persons, and their family, bodily and psychologically affected by cancer by supporting and comforting them. This precious support helps to keep hope. This service is exclusively dedicated to patients suffering from cancer and treated on the area served by the Laval Centre de santé et des services sociaux.

This foundation wants to be the faithful guardian of the quality of life of these people particularly weak and suffering. Their needs and expectations are at the scale of this great challenge: live with the illness and survive it as long as possible, whatever the price.
