Lisette Arel awarded the Grand prix Leader en santé et sécurité du travail by the CSST

Under the theme Lumière sur les visages de la prévention! (Spotlight on the faces of prevention!), the CSST held its eighth Gala national de Grands Prix santé et sécurité du travail on April 23, 2013, at the Québec City Convention Centre. The evening marked the culmination of a competition organized in every region of Québec to recognize workers and employers who display creativity and dedication in eliminating the risk of accidents in their workplace. At the Gala, awards were presented honouring the efforts of nine businesses and organizations as well as one worker and one employer representative.

These occupational health and safety awards serve first and foremost to put a face on those encouraging prevention in the provinceof Québec. Organized by the CSST, the competition honours commitment to health and safety in the workplace. The awards are presented in two categories: Innovation and Leader in Occupational Health and Safety. The Leader category honours one or more individuals who have distinguished themselves in their workplace by bringing the importance of occupational health and safety to the attention of colleagues. This award is presented exclusively at the provincial gala. This year’s Leader Award was presented to Lisette Arel after Venmar submitted her name for consideration.

Ms. Arel’s unique ability to lead, inspire and educate has earned the company a reputation as a model for workplace health and safety. Always striving to improve her knowledge of the latest best practices, she enthusiastically shares her experience with colleagues at speaking events.
